Cells solitary. Lorica funnel-shaped, 34–35 µm long (including pedicel), c. 15 µm diameter; longitudinal costae 14; transverse costae 3. Longitudinal costae each comprising 5 costal strips 5–5.5 µm long, converging at the posterior end to form the pedicel; anteriorly, 1 costal strip of each costa projects beyond the anterior transverse costa; pedicel comprising 2 or 3 costal strips 10–10.5 µm long. Anterior and second transverse costae comprising 14 and 15 costal strips, respectively; costal strips 4–4.2 µm long, slightly curved, slightly thicker than the longitudinal costal strips but tapering at both ends. Protoplast ovoid, 3.5 µm long, 3 µm diameter, located posteriorly in lorica. Flagellum 8 µm long.
Only known from under sea-ice in Lützow-Holm Bay, East Antarctica (Takahashi, 1981).
