Description

In vivo 200–1500 × 40–130 µm. Body slender, posteriorly tapering tail-like (length of tail variable), distinctly flexible, contractile; oral cavity to c. 20% of body length. About 20–40 somatic kineties forming a suture on posterior ventral side. About 85–200 adoral membranelles; 2–several short apical membranelles (‘cirri’). Macronucleus beaded, composed of 3–19 nodules; micronuclei c. 5. Movement: burrowing.
