Petz, Song & Wilbert (1995: 50, fig. 16)
In vivo c. 200–310 × 70–100 µm. Body narrowly to broadly leaf-shaped, flexible, laterally distinctly flattened, with a rope-like structure along ventral and dorsal margins, with 19–33 rigid spines around periphery of cell except in area of cytostome (in anterior quarter of body). Somatic kineties 29–40 on right side, densely ciliated (few anteriorly shortened). Perioral kineties 2 (1 almost surrounding body). Left side non-ciliferous except for perioral kinety 1 and brosse (extending over entire length of body and composed of rather widely spaced bristles). Extrusomes rod-shaped, of 2 types: short (3–5 µm long), scattered in body; and long (c. 30 µm), usually around periphery. Macronuclear nodules 2. Contractile vacuoles 3–5 in a dorsal row. Movement: slowly gliding.
