Description

In vivo c. 160–380 × 50–115 µm. Body elongate, posteriorly tapering, dorsoventrally slightly flattened; buccal field large; cytoplasm brownish red. Cirri: 20–42 frontal, in 2 rows, forming a bicorona, continuous with short midventral row of c. 40–63 cirral pairs and, sometimes, a few single cirri posteriorly; 1–3 frontoterminal, 2–5 buccal, no distinct transverse cirri. Left postoral ventral row of fine cirri 1 (sometimes with a very short second row); marginal cirral rows 1 right and, usually, 1 left. Dorsal kineties 3 (or 4). Adoral zone of 45–71 membranelles extending far onto right side. Macronuclear nodules c. 120–170; micronuclei 2–5. Contractile vacuole supraequatorial. Movement: crawling slowly.
