Cells unarmoured, elongate, cigar-shaped, 85 µm long, 18 µm diameter. Theca ornamented with c. 20 longitudinal ridges; epitheca c. two-thirds of the cell length, tapering towards a rounded apex. Cingulum descending. Chloroplasts not seen.
Southern Ocean, south of Australia.
We found a single specimen but could not identify it with certainty. "Torodinium sp." was recorded for the Weddell Sea by Estrada & Delgado (1990).
